Famara also known as Caleta de Famara

is a small fishing village on the North-West of the island of Lanzarote.

La playa de Famara is without doubt the longest beach on Lanzarote and the main attraction of this little village. It has also

become a paradise for surfers and kite surfers a like, and has plenty of room for these water sports as well as the not so sporty

activities like long walks on the beach, sunbathing and relaxing with the family. The beach itself has no facilities, so prepare youself

well with water, food ...

The village is a short drive from Teguise, and offers a beautiful scenery on the way down with the  inmense cliffs of el risco looking

over the  long sandy beach, straight ahead and to the right as you are driving, and on the left you can see the magestic volcanic

landscape.

The village of famara is great to explore, and it wont take to long, most of the streets are sandy and looks as if they have been taken out

from an old spaghetti western film! The village has most of the facilities needed, a great variety of places to eat and drink, bars and restaurants

overlooking the sea such as Restaurante el risco where you will find delicious food from the island, and can relax after a nice day at the beach.

The accomodation in the town of Famara is composed mainly of small apartments and studies for rent, or surf houses as the surf schools call them.

You will also find some nice bungalows right on the beach which are the perfect place to stay to enjoy the famara beach, they are about 10 minutes walk from the

village and have stunning views of the sea and the cliffs.

The nearby villages also offer bungalows and chalets, where you can rent rooms or the whole house, and if you are looking for hotels you will have to look

a bit further into the large towns in the island.

The good weather all year round and the tranquility of Lanzarote make it an ideal place to practice naturism and nudism.

There are several areas around Lanzarote which have good privacy and are an ideal environment for nudism and naturism. Famara is one of the pefect beaches to practice nudism, normally at the end of its beach you will find small wind shelters which are great to get some privacy when practicing naturism and nudism. This beach is about 4km long, and you normally wont find many people on it, if it is very windy you will of course have to deal with a few kitesurfers as Famara is the main kiteboarding beach in Lanzarote. Charco de Palo swimming pool There is no official nudist beach in Lanzarote so it is always good to be cautious, but you will find quite a few people nude and practicing naturism in several beaches around the island. The main ones are found near the spectacular Papagayo beach, and there is also a naturist resort there near Guatiza in the north east of the island. Charco de palo is a small village near Mala with beautiful surroundings and the whole village is a naturist resort, and it is common to practice nudism, except for in the shops and restaurants, you can enjoy a small nudist beach and other small areas with access to the sea. There is also a natural swimming pool. You can find more information on the following websites Charco de Palo Lanzarote Naturally Playa charco de palo
